I’m dropping in here with a bonus post to share some fun news. Last April I entered a poem in the Tadpole Press 100-Word Writing Contest. I did not win. That is not the fun news.
The fun news is that I did make it into the top 20 out of more than 1500 entries. That felt good. What felt even better is that Tadpole Press decided to publish their first ever literary journal, showcasing the contest winner plus the top 20 entries. I recently downloaded my copy and it’s really lovely. It’s colorful, and whimsical, with links to author interviews and to poems read aloud. (Mine is one of those, along with a brief audio discussion of where the poem came from.)
And also in the ‘fun news’ department, Tadpole Press’s next 100-Word Writing Contest is open for submissions until November 30, 2024. You can make a submission here. You can also sign-up to participate in one of the community write-ins they host ahead of their contest deadlines. The people at Tadpole Press have been lovely throughout the submission and publication progress. Everything they do seems so overwhelmingly positive. Check them out, for sure.
And if you are so inclined, the Journal is for sale here. It costs $7 and is delivered as a downloadable .pdf.
Thanks for reading, everybody. I’ll be back with a poem on Friday!
So cool, Tara! Congratulations!
Congratulations, and what fun!
